Good day Ladies and Gentlemen--
I am writing this blog to give individuals in CA helpful hints how to win traffic tickets in CA.
In this premiere blog, I am going to first start to talk about right when you see the red and blue lights in your rear view mirror.
When the officer approaches you, first have both of your hands on the steering wheel--don't start going for the glove compartment box--it might make them think you are searching for a weapon or that you are hiding contraband.
When the officer asks you what do you believe you were stopped for, be pleasant and say in a humble tone, "I really don't know, would you please tell me why?" If you jump in and tell them, "of course I know, I was going 85 in a 65 mph zone," then they will quickly write this down or they may have it even recorded, and bring this admission of yours right to court. Then when you are at your trial and try to convince the Judge that you were going about 65 mph--the Officer will tell the court what you had said, or better yet, even play your own incriminating testimony for the Judge.
So, don't say much of anything--just be pleasant and try not to stand out--hopefully they will forget you, and if you have to take this to trial, they will not have an independent recollection of this event and they will ask the Judge to dismiss this, based on not having an independent recollection of the facts.
Also, only go into your glove compartment box after they ask you for your proof of registration and insurance. Have it handy--police officers do not like to wait--I serve as a Temporary Judge in many different courts, and many litigants have appeared before me and told me that they actually had valid registration and insurance at the time of the traffic stop, but they could not find it in their messy glove compartment box. Keep them in an envelope that you can access very easily.
More to Come. . .
